Thai Researchers

It has been some time since I have posted a run-in with a rogue email destined for some E first name or Weiner last name. Some a few weeks back were not interesting so I let them fall into the Trash.

Today, however, I was surprised to find an email destined for my namesake author friend. The other Eric Weiner, I must say, who never sends any reply, not even a 'thank you,' when I forward him his own mail that came to me by mistake. But I'll continue to do it because I'm a nice guy.

This message comes from Sharyn. It was a reply with several emails in the chain about a very many things. But the exciting stuff seems to be happening now:

Any word back from your friend at AP in Bangkok? The journalist's investigative skills is exactly the right thing for tracking down Ally's birthmother's status. I am going to email the two friends you refer to in this mail now, I realize they may just refer me on so will let you know. Sharyn

Searsphotos.com

Apparently someone went to Sears to get some photos taken of their child and gave my email address. The confirmation email was nice enough to include a password as well.

Unfortunately no credit card information was entered but I did find out that they live in Connecticut.

To insure that I don't get any further emails from Sears, I updated my email address with something random.

Another thing to note is that the child in the photos had one freakishly large head.

I'm not in my residency

Hi Dr. Weiner,

My mom plays bridge with your father and said I should contact you since you could provide advice on post-baccalaureate premed programs which I am currently looking into. What would be a convenient time to chat on the phone regarding these programs? I know you are very busy with your residency so I am available whenever you have a free moment.

Thanks,

WMS-IV

It's been a while since I've been contacted by Fordham.

Hi Elie,

I hope that you are doing well. I am in charge of monitoring the Testing Lab this semester. I noticed that you had signed out a WMS-IV, but no one was in the lab at the time. Generally, the tests can only be signed out when someone is in the Testing Lab. Next time, could you please e-mail me first, and if you cannot make my hours, I will try to arrange another alternative way for you to get the tests that you need? Thanks!

I don't teach at Fordham Jesuit University in NY

I have been holding out on this blog. I admit. I have received about 3 emails so far from teachers at Fordham for various things that weren't too interesting but I'm getting a little peeved now. I don't work at that school and I don't even have an @fordham.edu address so I am at a loss. Oh, and I'm not contributing towards the baby gift:

Hello All,

If you were planning on contributing towards a gift for Abigail, please do so by Thursday. Kathy will be going out this weekend to purchase a gift card from the department.

Thank you
